What is Prayer
What is “The Power of Prayer“?
He who says there’s no power in prayer has not truly prayed the right prayer. Many meaningful definitions have been given about prayer by great men of God. The word prayer can easily be said to be a spiritual communication between men and God.
In other words, prayer is also a process through which man seeks God’s presence and His goodness.
The importance of prayer can be traced to him that we pray to and is from HIM that we derive “The Power of Prayer” This goes to show the relationship between God and men through a spiritual process, which if properly presented, will yield and lead to progress. Our pattern of life can’t in any way march up with God’s plan if we don’t go about it the right way to relate and to communicate with our creator.
Micah:6:8
He has shown you, O man, what is good; And what does the Lord require of you But to do justly, to love mercy, And to walk humbly with your God?
The Importance of Prayer
Every man should understand the importance of prayer, And if Jesus Christ can pray, why then can’t men pray? Christ taught us how to pray, throughout the lifetime of Jesus, everything he does is with prayer. The process of prayer requires a spiritual exercise. Men were periodically instructed to pray to God
1 Thessalonians 5:15:16.
Jesus also taught us the importance of prayer and the type of prayer we should pray, generally speaking, prayer is also a request made to God for any of our needs.
Phil 4:6
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
The passage above is a clear instruction for everyone to know who and where to channel his/her request.

However, we need to know that it’s not in the power of the person who makes the prayer, for the prayer to be answered, but the power for prayer to be answered lie only in God’s hands, yours is to pray the prayer, He’s to answer the prayer. As important as prayer is, every living soul needs to, and have to pray, no one is above or exempt from praying, the truth is, our daily life will practically become empty if we wake up daily, without saying nothing to God.
It is pathetic for those who have been leaving a Prayerless life, Perhaps you’re of those who think, you got no time or no reason to pray, you’re only short-changing yourself, the prayer you refuse to pray now, you’ll pray it when you get to where you will pray it, it might be too late for you then.
Why We Need To Pray
To summarize the reason why prayer is needed. As I mentioned earlier, and as God commanded, we pray generally to God for all our needs. The most significant part of our lives can’t sustain nor survive without God’s significant attention. God is our creator, God is our mentor
- He’s our father,
- He’s our maker,
- He’s our sustenance,
- He’s our provider,
- He’s our defending
- Our keeper.
- He’s our strength
- He’s our triumphant
- He’s our Guidance
- He’s our supplier
- He’s our healer
- He’s our deliverer
- He’s the lifter of our head
- He’s our promoter
- He’s our comforter
- He’s our confidant
- He’s our consultant
- He’s our counsellor
- He’s our Redeemer
- He’s the life of our life
- He’s the Light of our Life.
John 1:1. Above all, Christ Jesus the one and the only surest to the father, the pathway to heaven the saviours of mankind . These aforementioned names are attributed to God and they show forth God’s supernatural power through prayer, anytime we go before God in prayer, He’s available and ready to answer us whenever we call on Him.
To call on God is simply meant to pray to God. To pray to God is literary means to beacon on Him. All these adjectives are the same for as long as it’s been done as it is required of us. God answers the prayer of as many whose hearts drawn to Him, and if done by God’s commanded.
We ought to pray so as not to become prey. The importance of the purpose of prayer cut across every area of our life, we can’t protect, nor provide for ourselves no matter how highly place we’re. Everything we need or wants to become in life is in God’s hands. Even if you think you don’t need anything from God, you’re only deluding yourself because you didn’t create yourself.
The truth is this when you live a life of Prayerlessness you’re living a life of carelessness, and if you continue like that, you will end your life with regretfulness. This is why the scripture vividly says it like this.
Rom 10:13
For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
Prayer simply serves as our spiritual server that searches for a heavenly signal, and when properly position, and well connected, it goes directly into God’s database to release God’s supernatural power. There’s no network failure with God’s radius and his frequency.
Acts 2:21
And it shall come to pass
That whoever calls on the name of the Lord
Shall be saved.’

A prayerless Christian is a careless Christian, and when you’re careless, then you’re automatically a powerless Christian.
When God set to do something, He would do it. Prayer saved and it’s solved a problem through Christ Jesus. And if you must know. The more you pray, the more you prevail, the more you prevail, The more you need to praise God. The more you praise God, the more you progress

Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.
